About This Project

“Convection” by Juan Carlos Vasquez, is a piece for ensemble and electronics that features a transference of spectral energy from one state of white noise into a final state featuring a single sustained pitch, in a way that resembles bulk displacement of sonic elements. “Convection” features live processing of the ensemble using Max 8.

This composition was written especially for the Splinter Reeds ensemble.
